Kermi Duschdesign celebrates 50 years of shower enclosures!
What began in 1976 with the production of the first Isola Standard shower enclosure has developed into an impressive success story. From its beginnings to today’s modern shower solutions, the company’s development has been characterised by innovative strength, technical expertise and a strong focus on quality.
Thanks to the continuous expansion of its capacity and the constant optimisation of its manufacturing processes, Kermi Duschdesign is now one of Europe’s leading suppliers of shower solutions.
2024
Kermi Shower Design is becoming an independent company, Kermi Shower Design GmbH. This restructuring marks a significant milestone in the company's history. By spinning off as an independent limited company, Kermi Shower Design aims to further strengthen and expand its position in the market for high-quality shower solutions.
Kermi Shower Design GmbH will focus entirely on the development, production and distribution of innovative shower solutions in future. With a focus on design, quality and functionality, the new company aims to inspire its customers with tailor-made products and first-class service. Independence is also intended to increase the company's agility and innovative strength so that it can respond more quickly to market trends and customer needs.
With the establishment of Kermi Shower Design GmbH, the company is sending a clear signal for the future and underlining its ambitions to take a leading role in the field of shower solutions. The spin-off is a strategic step to fully exploit the growth potential and further strengthen the Kermi Shower Design brand.
In 2022
Kermi has already produced 15 million shower enclosures at its Plattling site in Lower Bavaria, with a great deal of passion for the development and manufacture of high-quality shower solutions.
On 21 June 2022, the fifteen millionth shower enclosure rolled off the production line.
A special occasion to celebrate and 15 million reasons to say thank you.

Completion of comprehensive investments in manufacturing and logistics for shower design and indoor climate.
Like the product range, the Kermi factory premises in Plattling have also grown over the years.
2014
Opening of the new Kermi:Campus seminar centre at the company headquarters in Plattling.
In 2014, the expansion work in the logistics area was completed.
2010

Spacious walk-in glass units open up new possibilities in a young, growing trend market.
2004
Extensive expansion of Kermi s.r.o. Stribro in the areas of production and logistics.
2001
Gaining an international market presence and expanding the product range required comprehensive expansion in development, production, logistics and administration over the last decade.
Since 1 July 2001, Kermi has been part of AFG Arbonia-Forster Holding AG, with its headquarters in Arbon, Switzerland.

Market launch of the Kermi all-glass shower enclosure range
1996
Founding of Kermi s.r.o. with production facilities in Stribro, Czech Republic.
1994
Start of production for bathroom and designer radiators.
1992
A completely new flat radiator factory with fully automated production lines and a paint shop goes into operation.
1990
Kermi sets new standards with its new Infocenter. An exemplary forum for presentation, training and interaction.
1989
The first flat radiator models specially adapted for use in bathrooms are launched on the market.
Merger of Salzgitter AG and PREUSSAG AG. Kermi GmbH now belongs to the PREUSSAG Group.
Late 1980s
Thanks to the rapid success of its products, the site had already been greatly expanded and developed by the end of the 1980s.

Expansion of the factory with the first fully automated production line for flat panel radiators.

Start of production of flat panel radiators.

Company founded as a craft business by partners KERschl and SchMIdt for the manufacture of heating oil tanks.
